On Monday, the court heard phone records and information retrieved from phones logged Ms Wandelt repeatedly requesting Madeleine's mother for a biological test over the past two years.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a vacation in Portugal - is among the most widely reported investigations and remains open.

'I Don't Want Money'

Another recorded message, presented in court, recorded Ms Wandelt declaring: "I know I'm heavy and plain like Madeleine had been, but I know what I feel."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's voicemail expressed: "Imagine there is a slight possibility that I'm her? What then? Isn't that crucial for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I have a living here in Poland, I just want to discover," the recording stated.

The panel was told that through electronic messages, SMS messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt asked for a DNA test, sent childhood photos to her phone in a bid to display a similarity to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and stated to have "memories" from a youth with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, a data specialist with Leicestershire Police who gathered the evidence, informed the court there "showed no any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt additionally communicated with close associates of the McCanns, as per the call data.

On 9 October 2024, Gerry McCann answered a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "a wrong number."

During that incident Ms Wandelt deposited a voicemail on Mrs McCann's recording saying "I will persist and I intend to demonstrate my position."

The court was informed the co-defendant developed a relationship online with Ms Wandelt prior to joining her on a visit to the McCanns' residence in that area in that winter.

Call logs demonstrated Mrs Spragg had reached out through messaging service to Mrs McCann to state the press had depicted Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she deserved to be treated respectfully in the time before the visit to Rothley, Leicestershire, in that winter.

The court heard communications between the two individuals, in November 2024, discussing trying to obtain Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her trash or from silverware at a restaurant.

"We have to make a stand," Mrs Spragg advised Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the trip to their residence, the defendant dispatched a communication which stated: "We're currently positioned outside the McCanns' house with our headlights off like private investigators. I wanted to accomplish this with another person I never thought I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The case proceeds.
