Battlefield 6 Gamers Agree: Challenges Are Excessively Difficult
The release of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 was met with significant enthusiasm, particularly for its flagship multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, simultaneous player numbers reached a high of nearly 750,000. However, in spite of its success, a growing number of players are expressing frustration over some of the game's most difficult challenges, which are mandatory to obtain particular firearms.
Players have started turning to personalized games created through the custom game tool to finish these tasks, emphasizing just how grueling these missions have become.
Grasping Battlefield 6 Tasks
Tasks represent Battlefield 6's fixed in-game challenges, as opposed to the frequently updated everyday and weekly missions. It features four types of assignments, but while the majority merely grant cosmetics and some tools, achieving the firearm tasks is the sole method of acquiring 12 of the 41 main guns available in the game.
A number of these restricted firearms might eventually make their appearance on rankings for the top weapons in Battlefield 6.
Player Outcry across Reddit
Within Reddit, players are understandably expressing their worries about how difficult and grindy a number of these challenges are. A particular gamer pointed out one of the most outrageous examples, required to unlock the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
- Cause 10,000 non-ADS damage with LMGs
"This mission is so awful and totally unreasonable, I want to scream in frustration," is a statement that captures just how excessively challenging these tasks are.
The suppression mechanic in Battlefield is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many advantages in battle as it did in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.
At the same time, firing an LMG without aiming is highly imprecise and functions solely at extremely close range, which is seldom the location you want to be. That player also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, to unlock the SCW-10, which requires kills while aiming down the sights, when that task would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and vice versa.
Another Extremely Difficult Task
A different forum member pointed out another ridiculously tough challenge, within the marksman rifle class to obtain the PSR:
- Get 150 headshot kills beyond 200 meters with sniper rifles
This is tough enough by itself, but there's one more key thing to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at such a long range.
There is a decent selection of map sizes, but since there are only nine battlegrounds in the game right now, it implies you must stick to playing one of the larger locales, a particular valley environment, and possibly Operation Firestorm in a best-case scenario if you want to snipe from beyond 200 meters.
The Workaround
However, there is a solution: the portal. This portal feature is a feature that enables you to make custom game modes on the battleground of your choice, featuring computer-controlled players. This means you can exploit the mechanics… but it doesn't exactly feel like the spirit of the game.
But when doing the challenges in a proper game appears to work against fun, since you are forced to participate in such an unorthodox manner that harms both you and your squad, is it surprising for finishing these in a private match so teammates aren't hindered?
Future Adjustments
It is expected if several of these tasks are toned down in the next few updates, because should they remain unchanged, a portion of the user base simply will never acquire the locked firearms.
At the moment, the player base continues to share their thoughts on these strenuous in-game tasks, hoping for a less arduous gaming experience in coming revisions.
