Chalobah Expected to Replace Marc Guehi in England National Team

Chelsea defender in action

The Chelsea star followed his sibling Nathaniel in representing England, emerging as the twenty-first duo of siblings to play for the England side.

Trevoh Chalobah is likely to be added to the Three Lions selection to fill in for injured Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.

The 26-year-old is scheduled to link up with the national side for England's last World Cup qualifying matches against Albania and Serbia, although it has still not been made public.

The Three Lions have already secured qualification for the upcoming competition.

Chalobah received his first selection under England manager Thomas Tuchel in May and then earned his first cap against Senegal.

In September, Tuchel remarked Chalobah was unlucky to be excluded from the team for qualifying games against Andorra and Serbia, and also did not select him for the following October international break.

Tuchel has been an key figure in Chalobah's progress, having handed him his Chelsea first-team bow in 2021.

Chalobah has played in all but four matches for Chelsea this season, with the club occupying third spot in the English top flight, in the EFL Cup quarter-finals and in the league phase of the European competition.

Guehi suffered a foot problem in Crystal Palace's Conference League victory over AZ Alkmaar last week.

There are expected to be other additions to the selection. Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe has confirmed that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip injury) and goalkeeper Nick Pope (a concussion) are set to pull out from the squad.
