Young travellers were also double the chance to select a brand, hotel, or location because of its environmental commitments.

Roughly 20% of 25- to 34-year-olds prioritized sustainability, versus one in ten overall.

Questioning Around Eco-Friendly Assertions

Several industry figures expressed scepticism about these claims.

Calls for Control in Travel Industry

The challenges with overtourism in Spanish destinations and other locations were attributed to "illegal rentals" as opposed to big operators.
