Indianapolis Colts Battle Falcons in German Capital – NFL Week 10

Hello, fussball enthusiasts. How are you? Everything good I hope on this excellent early start to the tenth week coming directly from Germany. Berlin's Olympic Stadium to be precise where at 8.30am CST/9.30am EST and 2.30pm GMT the mighty Colts (7-2) face off against the Falcons (three wins and five losses). The fifth game played on German soil and the first in the capital city.

Pre-match Key Moments

As sparkly jackets go that is an absolute belter from the Olympic figure skater on the opening flip. A minor slip from the broadcast team there as we hear β€œwho won the toss?” from the presenter with an accidentally live microphone.

So, the Colts have won the toss and have chosen to get the ball first. The Colts' offense will be setting up shortly. Can the quarterback recover after a difficult performance in Pittsburgh?

In a similar vein the vocalist performing the US national anthem has some of the biggest shoulder embellishments you are bound to notice. Loving the sartorial choices today. We are almost underway after a choral number for the German anthem. Elegant.

Opening Period Gameplay

Scoreless at 13:30 in the first

And we're off! And we have early drama after the Colts running back receives a short throw, gains 15 yards on the outside to the right then fumbles … only for his offensive lineman to recover the fumble with the ball retrieval. Indianapolis quickly moves into Atlanta's half.

Colts 0-0 Falcons 10:51, 1st quarter

And the excitement continues as the Indianapolis attempts a fourth-down conversion. The risk doesn't work out as the wide receiver fails to catch a quick pass from Jones. Prior to the failed attempt the Falcons defender put a huge hit on the Colts' tight end. Atlanta's defense started strong as they attempt to end their three-game losing streak. Following that, Sauce Gardner makes his first appearance!

Touchdown Updates

TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-0 Falcons 8:36, 1st quarter

Did Kyle Pitts just drop a touchdown? The Falcons player makes a crucial error, he was wide open but the ball just slips through his grasp. That play rather sums up the first round pick’s career to date.

So far, so disappointing but it only gets worse for the Atlanta as they cough the ball back to the Colts on the 23-yard mark. Michael Penix Jr is sacked and fumbles the football.

An agile 22-yard rush from Ashton Dulin sets the running back up to roll in for the score on the following play. Kicker Michael Badgley misses the point after attempt. Mistake.

TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-7 Falcons 6:07, 1st quarter

Penix Jr puts the fumble behind him by leading Atlanta on a long drive for a touchdown. Drake London makes some chunky receptions to put them in the red zone then the seas part for the running back to run untouched into the end zone through the middle of the defense for 13 yards. He completes the drive for a short scoring run of his own. The Falcons take the lead.

Additional Week 10 Matchups

Additionally, the full slate starting at 12pm CST/1pm EST/6pm GMT (with home teams first) is as follows:

  • (5-4) Carolina Panthers v New Orleans Saints (1-8)

  • (5-3) Chicago Bears v Giants (2-7)

  • (3-5) Texans v Jacksonville Jaguars (5-3)

  • (2-7) Dolphins v Buffalo Bills (6-2)

  • (4-4) Minnesota Vikings v Ravens (3-5)

  • (1-7) Jets v Cleveland Browns (2-6)

  • (6-2) Buccaneers v Patriots (7-2)

What a feast. My pick for the best game is Minnesota and Baltimore playing out the game of the day.
