Kansas City Chiefs Acknowledge Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment Wednesday night indicating they are aware of domestic violence allegations made public in online accounts by a ex-partner of wide receiver the athlete and were in contact with the NFL.
The team omitted the name of Rice by name in their announcement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention the athlete directly, shared a set of images on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. Jones stated the person involved was the father of her children, and it is known she has two children with Rice, whom the Chiefs drafted in the second round.
Police Reports Currently Not on File
No official complaints were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have occurred.
Rice's Prior Legal Issues
Rice was absent for the initial part of this season following an league-mandated ban for his involvement in instigating a crash on a Dallas highway that resulted in several individuals injured. He was sentenced a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
Statistically, he finished the year with 53 catches for 571 yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a ten-year span.
