Reigning Aryna Sabalenka Claims Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Awards.
World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second successive year.
The twenty-seven-year-old won four tournament victories – the most on tour – including successfully defending the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth career Grand Slam singles championship.
A Season of High Performance
Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka competed in a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with defeats coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.
The star player also triumphed at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the entire year as the top-ranked player, finishing 2025 on top of the rankings for a second straight year.
This past summer, she became the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.
Record-Breaking Statistics
Sabalenka ended the season with a 63-12 win-loss record, and picked up a historic £11m in tournament winnings.
She received nearly 80% of the votes submitted by global tennis journalists.
Later this month, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match in a bid to "elevate women's tennis to a new level".
